Darrol blushed a little. What was he supposed to do with the bouquet after he had caught it by accident? It had landed on his face; he had no choice but to grab it. Kaito had told him to keep it as a memento when he had tried to give it back. He had no plans on getting married then and he still had no plans on getting married now, at least not yet anyway.

After dinner, Darrol found himself on a walk with Asher since it was a nice clear and still warm evening. They were heading to the nearby park for their evening stroll when he felt Asher clasp his hand in his. He tightened his fingers in Ashers as they laced them together, enjoying the feel of the large smooth hand that held his securely.

Asher had put Vivi to bed at her request by telling her a story and it took no time at all for her to fall asleep. He didn want to say goodbye to Darrol just yet this evening, so he had suggested going on a walk. ”Im sorry if my mom is making you uncomfortable with her talk of us marrying. I know you are also dealing with it from your mom too. I hope you realize shes just teasing us. ”

Asher laughed and squeezed Darrols hand reassuringly. ”I know. Your mother is a hoot at times. I can believe she gave Kaito an aphrodisiac pheromone cologne on his wedding day! That is so funny! I don take offense at your mom teasing us. She obviously loves you and is just poking fun at our slow pace. I know you aren ready for marriage and honestly I am not ready for that step either. ”

”But you said that night that you were imagining a future with me! ” Darrol pouted a little. He didn know why he felt miffed at his words, it was true he wasn ready for marriage to anyone, not even Asher yet, but he couldn help but feel a pang of disappointment. Whats wrong with me? Why do I feel this way?! Darrol berated himself for feeling disappointed when he knew that he didn want marriage yet.

”I did say that. I won deny it, Darrol, but that doesn change the fact that you haven opened up to me all the way even if you said you would consider it down the road. I may have imagined that scenario, but thats something I was thinking about for the future, not in the now. I don want you to feel pressured to marry me just because we have dated for a while. ”

”We still have a lot to learn about each other and opening up to one another is something we both need to work on if we want to become more serious with the intent of marriage and bonding after this year. You said it yourself that you would consider it depending on how things go this year. ” Asher squeezed Darrols hand lightly. He would consider marriage with Darrol if he knew what all he felt for him. He was still trying to figure out his own feelings.

Asher has a point. I haven exactly been open with him about my life. I don talk too much about myself. I usually just enjoy his company and let him talk. I need to start telling him more about me and not keep putting up a wall between us. I like Asher and want this to work. I want to fall in love, but will I be able to do that if I open up to him? Darrol thought as they walked along the path to the park.

Looking up as they walked, Asher took note of the stars that had started to come out, twinkling in the fading light of the sun setting beyond the horizon, nothing more than a thin hint of color in the distance that was fading into the oblivion of the night. He thought the night was beautiful and perfect for a stroll. He was glad that Darrol had agreed to this walk since he wanted to share his love of the twilight evening with him.

”Darrol, do you see those stars? That there is the swan constellation, Cygnus. ” Asher pointed out as they walked into the entrance to the park.

How do you figure thats a swan? It looks like a bunch of stars to me… ” Darrol poked fun at it. He too liked constellations. ”Now if you want a real constellation then you should see Capricornus, the zodiac of the goat. ” Darrol teased as he pointed it out in the sky.

”Oh, is that so? Then what do you think of the constellation of Vulpecula, the fox? ”

”Who needs a fox when you can have Microscopium, the microscope? ” Darrol asked.

”I rather prefer Delphinus, the dolphin, myself. ” Asher said

What about Equuleus, the little horse? Or are you going counter each of the animal constellations I point out? ” Asher teased Darrol, still enjoying the feel of Darrols hand in his.

”The only problem I have is not all of the constellations you said are visible in the northern hemisphere! ” Darrol poked at Asher playfully as he smiled up at him. This was nice, just a simple outing with nothing but the sky and each other.

e right… Asher said as he gazed into the eyes of Darrol that were sparkling in the night, looking ever so happy and delightfully bright.

He leaned down and placed a gentle peck on Darrols lips wanting to share the joy he felt at this moment with him.

Darrol didn let Asher escape with just a peck, he pulled him down for a longer sweeter kiss, savoring the taste of leftover dinner as his tongue sought to tangle with his.

It had been a week since Darrol had told Asher part of the things that Rex had done to him so that he had conceived Vivi. He still hadn told Asher all of it, but he was scared to say those things, since he felt dirty every time he thought about it. Asher might be disgusted at him if he were to say it. That was his underlying fear.

Currently it was Tuesday afternoon and Asher had come over after his last class of the day so that he could install their new security system that he had offered to put in last week. So far, working the evening shift, he hadn found any one of the employees suspicious, but maybe that was because they only saw him as the owners son and wouldn open up to him yet.

”Asher do be careful on that ladder, would you! ” Darrol said as he held the ladder for him as he installed the new camera over the registers. The last thing that Darrol wanted was for Asher to fall and get hurt.

”Don worry, I won fall. ” Asher said as he finished screwing in the new wireless camera that looked just like the old cameras that had been in the store before. The whole retro look was Ms. Juns idea since she thought it would fool the customers and employees into thinking they still were the old cameras and would relax around them and carry on as usual.

Asher carefully made his way down the ladder; he thought it was sweet that Darrol was worrying about him, so when Ms. Jun was off getting Vivian from the bus stop, he pulled Darrol close and gave him a kiss to show him he liked that he was worrying about him.

Darrol smiled at the kiss and snuck one more before his mom got back with Vivi. He was happy that he could spend this time with him. Asher over the last week had made it a point to spend a little more time with him whenever he could spare it when he wasn teaching. He was a little surprised, but pleased, nonetheless.

It turned out that Asher had Mondays off this term and that was why he had stopped by last week. He had not been keeping up with his schedule since they had taken a break, but happy coincidences could happen as he had seen too many times with Kaito and Lionel. In fact, one of the coincidences that had happened today was them both being invited to come over to watch the twins so that they could go to a concert at the local concert hall tonight.
